About a month ago, a single white petunia showed up in my family’s waning vegetable garden. Neither me nor any of my immediate neighbors planted any petunias, so it was neat to find it there. I told my children about it but kept forgetting to show them. Over the past few weeks, the petunia has survived several frosts and continued to bloom. I realize that petunias are hardy, but I still believe that’s a very special plant. So today, I finally dug it up and brought in in the house, where my children helped me plant it in a pot. They named the flower Spirit, because it came from God.
