I got some good news today. Then I got some really bad news. Then I got some really good news.

As of tomorrow, my life will have been a roller coaster for a full year.  During that year, I’ve lost almost everything that I loved or enjoyed, either in full or in part. Yet, God has still been incredibly good to me. As I look back, the times when I received the worst news were almost always accompanied with some good news as well. Sometimes I wasn’t able to see it at the time; there was simply too much pain. And while the pain is still there, my vision is improving. And I’m learning to trust God more.

God did not orchestrate the trial that I’ve faced over the past year. But He has certainly used it. And He has been faithful to provide me with what I need each day. So today, when I got some really bad news, I was overjoyed when I also got some really good news. But having seen it time and again, I wasn’t surprised.
